May 11th 2017- Super Meatboy recommendation

Warning, do not play this game if you are easily offended, or a kid(without parents permission, so parents, play it first). But what is it with little kids playing games not intended for their age group. Also this can be a rage inducing game, so don’t direct your anger at me if you “accidentally” or purposefully throw your controller against your screen or punch your computer screen.  Other than that, have fun. -P.S. One of the games soundtracks songs does have a vulgar name, and it does feature you going to the underworld for a while, so that is why I have to give this a warning Sticker. I would say if anything it is rated T. Also the games antagonist doesn’t have a fully appropriate name.

Today I am going to recommend a game called Super Meat Boy. Super MeatBoy is a quick paced platformed where you play as Meatboy (or one of the other unlock-able characters in the game) who’s girlfriend has been kidnapped by the games antagonist. This game makes you feel both nostalgia and rage at the same time, mostly for the fact it feels old school, but isn’t. It can be next to impossible to beat for most people (except me, no, I’m not bragging, this is just my favorite type if game), let alone get 100%.

Plot (100 out of 100 and 50 out of 100)- This game has an extremely easy to follow plot that is not hard to follow at all.  For that reason, I’m giving both a 100 and a 50, because it it has a plot that doesn’t make you confused, it’s cut and paste what happens, so for simplicity I give it a 100. The 50 part is this game has no complexity, and I personally like complex plots, but since my opinion is not of every ones, I’m giving it two grades, just to be fair.

Music- (100 out of 100) – I would give the music to this game an A+. I feel as if its one of the best things about the game because you will be stuck on many levels, so it’s at least gotta give you good music. My favorite song is the one of the underworld, but I do try to keep these reviews G to PG, so I can’t say the name. Look it up if you want to, but do it of your own accord. (This is so I don’t get in trouble if you get in trouble, so please don’t blame me if you look up the song name).

Gameplay (90 out of 100)- This games gameplay is repetitive (mostly for the fact of what type of game it is), but it constantly adds new elements to not make it monotonous (It’s not like running you over with an 18-wheeler, it gives you new elements at a steady pace). Most of it is figuring out what to do by yourself, but it is almost painfully obvious what each thing does. It even some times fires what each new mechanic does at you.

Rage inducing ((this scale is the more rage inducing it is, the lesser the score, just to make a game not a perfect 10 out of ten where it makes you want to throw the console out the window, also adds and additional 100 just in case of being too rage inducing) 35 out of 100) – This game can make you madder than the mad hatter, buts it not from being a crappy game. This game is legitimately hard and frustrating from good game play. Although this can make you go, “I should’ve made that,” it is still almost always the player who messed up.

Graphics-(75 out of 100)- The graphics of this game are good, but not great. I would say the games graphics are mediocre, but then again this game was released in 2011. So 75.

All in all, I would give this game an eight star rating (7.9 and 2/3 to be exact)(that’s the average of the two scores put together, from one category having two scores. Ones 8 and 1/3 and the other is 7.5) This amazing game is 15 dollars, so go check it out for yourself. Until next time- The Firemoon Gamer

May 4th (May the Forth be with you)- Classic Game recommendation- Megaman Zero

MegaMan Zero is a game I love extremely much, and as I was playing it, I decided to do a review/ recommendation for it. Megaman Zero is a 2D platformer for the Gameboy advance, with surprisingly good graphics for its time.  This game could be mistaken for a game from today if it wasn’t for being on the gameboy. This game was somewhat ignored for its time, as the Megaman series as a hole was on the decline. Although this is a technical review, I really want Megaman as a series to come back, as it was (and is) a really good series.

The music is different for every location, so you have more music for every location that adds more replay ability.  The story and plot may be confusing if you never played Megaman X, but it will be even more confusing if you haven’t played Megaman at all. At times it can be difficult, but for the most part (at least for me) it is pretty easy.

It can give some people a hard time to get an A rank on all missions (don’t worry if it does, it defiantly gives me a hard time), but it is even harder to get 100 percent. I would say level up your skills for weapons as fast as you can, because it makes the game a whole lot easier if you do. If you can get past the first two bosses, you should be able to beat the game (key term should, please don’t get mad at me if you can’t), but you should save regularly. Try to explore as much as you humanly can, but other than that, good luck.

I personally would give this game a 5 out of 5 star rating. Thank you for taking your time to read this, and good bye for now. -The Firemoon gamer

Megaman 2 boss guide- April 29th, 2017

Warning incomplete, Enter at own risk Would be apperciated if you put how to kill each boss in comments to get this done faster, also names

Megaman 2 has no boss killing glitches, but it is an easier game than Megaman (Boss wise) Here is how to kill each of them. (BTW all but two bosses is weak to Megamans megablaster)

  1. Airman- Air man is the weakest to megamans megablaster, but he is also weak to bubble lead
  2. Crashman-  is weak to Airmans item
  3. The Alien (true final boss)- This thing will be healed by all of your weapons except for bubble lead. He is tough, but if you attack, then dodge as much as you can, it will probably be easy. Makes a mostly useless item finally useful.

Megaman 1 Boss Guide – April 27th, 2017

This is a game I would personally recommend to anyone, beginner, veteran, age 3, age 60, anyone. It is a little difficult, but is the easiest Megaman game. If you want to start to play the Megaman series, play them in order. -The Firemoon Gamer.

Today I am doing a boss guide for Megaman 1. It is a game where all you do is walk, jump, and shoot. That is all there is to it. I am going to highlight all the bosses’ weaknesses. But before that, I am going to highlight the cutter boomerang glitch.

The cutter boomerang glitch is an oversight: with cuttermans item, the cutter boomerang, you can deal infinite damage. It is where you select the cutter boomerang and when it hits an enemy or boss, continuously mash select to deal damage infinitely. This glitch/oversight happens because the cutter boomerangs stays out of the field indefinitely until the boomerang goes back to you. When you press select, the boomerangs despawns because the game is paused, then re-spawns back into play when you press select. When this happens, if it is on an enemy, it deals out damage again, mostly because the damage dealt to the enemy is already given, but since the boomerang spawned is “new”, it can deal damage to the same enemy over and over again. So essentially, you could theoretically deal infinite damage.

1. Gutsman- Gutsman stage should be the first stage you tackle, as he is the weakest to the mega blaster, but if you don’t do him first, he is weak to bombmans power.

2. Cutterman – Cutterman is weak to Gutsman’s item, so if you pick up the rocks in the arena and throw them at him; he should die in two hits.

3. Elecman-By now you should have the cutter boomerang, and guess what Elecmans weakness is. Even without the cutter boomerang glitch, he is extremely weak to the cutter boomerangs.

4.Iceman is weak to elecmans power, and it gets him defeated quickly.

5. Bombman- Bombman is weak to firemans power, so just defeat him with that, or the boomerang

6. Fireman- Fireman is weak to icemans power, but the cutter boomerang glitch is perfectly valid.

5. Bombman- Bombman is weak to firemans power, so just defeat him with that, or the boomerang, which is good practice for what is coming up.

7 Yellow Devil- The yellow devil is what one could literally be called an actual devil. He is immune to mostly everything, but use the cutter boomerang glitch and you won’t deal with hours of swearing and cursing at the devil.

8 Megaman Clone- Just use the boomerang glitch again, but his weakness is the mega buster

9. Machine bubble- this fight is hard. But in all honesty, just use gutmans item, and then use the mega buster, because that is what it is weak to. Also Elecmans item, but megabuster is faster and more reliable in this case.

10 Dr. Wily- Dr. Wily is weak to the mega buster, firemans power, boomerang, and elecmans power.  Hold off using elecmans power during stage one, because it does double damage stage 2 (if you’ve played megaman before you know what I mean)

April 26th 2017- Spooky’s House of Jump Scares Review

(Warning, this game contains graphic and disturbing images, flashing lights, and sudden jump scares. It is not recommended to play if you have a weak heart, epilepsy, have been heavily sheltered as a kid, or are under the age of 13. I am not telling you to play this, so don’t get mad at me if anything happens. It is an amazing game nevertheless. There, now I can’t get sued.)

This game is recommended for beginners in the horror genre, and all types of gamer’s. Veterans might have difficulty because it is an unusual horror game; it’s different than most of that genre.

I’m reviewing the free, original version, not the HD remake, so don’t question why some things are out dated. (On a side note this game wasn’t even released ten years ago and it got a remake, and I find that funny, and I’m not making a backhanded comment there.)

Today I’m reviewing a cuteysy, demonic, horror game called Spooky’s House of Jump Scares. Many people are probably wondering why today I’m reviewing a horror game in the middle of Spring (or Fall if you live in the southern hemisphere), when it’s not even remotely close to Halloween, and that is because this a game that needs more love. Spooky’s House of Jump Scares is a horror game on P.C. that is about you exploring a mansion that is haunted by the ghost of a kid named Spooky. You traverse the halls, trying to figure out what happened while trying to not die. It is extremely cute game, but some of the images are really gorey. You should ask your doctor first if you can play this if you have epilepsy or a weak heart. I overall give this game an 8.46 out of 10. Now lets see why.

Sound (80 out of 100) – The quality of the sound and voice acting are pretty solid. It is amazing, but some of it is overly creepy. It doesn’t really have music, but does have audio per say, so it gets minus 20 points.

Gameplay (90 out of 100) – The gameplay is also pretty solid, but can be annoying at times. You can only save every 100 rooms, so if you mess up, too bad so sad. It can be frustrating, but it is also simplistic. It’s good for what it is.

Story (75 out of 100) – The story is very cryptic, and there is a different story for everything, and the ending is good, but could improve. The story can be confusing, and you may need to play the game once or twice to get it. It’s bittersweet and good once you understand it all.

Scare factor (100 out of 100) – This is a game that starts out entirely cute, and it leads you on. You feel as safe as can be, but then it hits you with an eighteen wheeler, and you will be scared out of your mind. Not saying why or how though; that would spoil all the fun.

Atmosphere (95 out of 100) – The general atmosphere changes immensely as the game progresses, and each atmosphere is unique and extremely fitting for each section. Some people may not like the amount of atmospheres, and how they transition.

Graphics (67 out of 100) – This game has good graphics for what it is, but it’s not the greatest.

It is available on Steam for free, but the D.L.C isn’t. I would recommend to try it yourself for a bit before buying anything.

Punch out NES tips- April 21st, 2017

This game is recommended to veteran gamer’s, but anyone can enjoy it. It is a little hard, and it took me a year to beat. Please don’t blame me if you rage out, I am innocent. It is fun nevertheless though. Beginner gamer’s might  give up on gaming if they play that, but I highly doubt it. It would be funny to see though. But you shouldn’t give up if you play this and it’s too hard.

Today I am going to give tips on how to beat some of the characters from Punch Out.

Glass Joe – Punch him, with an uppercut right before he hits to give him a star punch. You can also punch him when his arms are lowered, but you attack normally.

Von Kaiser – When he is about to punch he turns yellow, so punch him in the gut to receive a star. Not very easy though, so one should try either blocking his punch or dodging then uppercut wail on him, but if you have a star, after uppercutting star punch him.

Piston Honda – Whenever he raises his eye brows, punch him to get a star.  Whenever he is about to punch, with a funny look on his face, uppercut him. After he uppercuts you, star punch him.

Don Flamenco – Punch him, dodge his attacks, and then punch to the rhythm of the noise made when you hit him.

King Hippo – He attacks when he opens his mouth, so uppercut him before he punches, and when he bandages appear on his stomach, punch him there.

Great Tiger – When his gem glows, uppercut him to get a star. When he leans, punch in the same direction to get a star. When he does his special move, the magic punches, block each punch until you see his face all confused and dizzy; then do an uppercut to knock him out.

Bald Bill – He shuffles his fists, RIGHT BEFORE he punches, so uppercut him then, this should get you a star. If you punch anytime before he punches, you should get a star regardless. When he goes all the way back hit him. When he comes to you to knock him out.

Piston Honda 2 – He is about to piston punch you, when he raises his eyebrows, so uppercut him. Same as before, but in the second round, after he tries to uppercut you, when you uppercut him then star punch him, for some strange reason it’s counts as an instant KO.

Soda Popinski – Dodge his punches, then uppercut straight afterwards. Block whenever he crouches, he’ll wait, and punch him to get a star. Star punches are instant KOs from the sheer difficulty to actually get one, you’ll get the opportunity to do it after he punches and you dodge, you also have to uppercut twice.

Bald Bill 2 – Same as before, but he will now taunt you with a duck and raise, just punch when he ducks and uppercut whens he is up. Also only when he lounges at you Upper cut  use or star punches to knock him out.

Don Flamenco 2 – When he chenches his left arm, upper cut him, dodge, and wail on him. When he is about to uppercut you, uppercut him for a star. When he is about to punch you in the face punch him in the gut for a star

Sandman – when he shuffles his fists, dodge and Uppercut. When he does the Uppercut (1 in a row) dodge, uppercut, then punch repetitively. When he does the three in a row uppercut, dodge left left right, then uppercut him, then punch repetitively

Super Macho Man- Dodge his attacks then Uppercut repetitively. When he swings around dodge down (do this by double tapping down) repetitively (as many times as he spins) when he shows his back uppercut

Mr. Dream- He is completely randomized. Look at his eyebrows for when he is about to punch, dodge, and Uppercut.

Metriod zero mission Speed running tips- April 20th, 2017

This is a game recommended for every one. This game can be hard at times, but don’t immediately try to speed run it. Play it once or twice, and then try go at it.

Today I am going to give speed running tips for Metroid Zero mission.  This is an easy game to speed run. Then again I have played this game so many times that I know the amount of time in between each hit that an enemy has technical invincibility after you hit it, and how to space in between that you do double damage. That’s sadly not on here. But that is on a professional level.  This guide is people new to speed running.

First of all I’m going to give tips for the infinite wall jump. In Metriod, if you go up to a wall and jump to it, if you jump away in the opposite direction you will do a wall jump. However, in Metriod Zero mission, if you go change directions back to the wall when you wall jump, you will go back to the wall, higher. So theoretically, this could replace space jump early and mid game.

Another thing in Metriod Zero mission is bomb jumping. If you have the bombs and Morph Ball (technically Maru Maru) you can do what is known as a bomb jump. You can lay as many bombs as you want, even in midair. So spam bombs and you should be able to bomb jump to normally out of reach places, even unreachable by wall jumping.

The final thing is early varia suit. As soon as you get ledge grab and ice beam, you can get the varia suit. Normally you are intended to get the high jump before hand, but all you need to do is get the enemy in the room when you first come in the room to the path to the varia suit

. brinstatUpper highest hallway right next to save room is the one

Get the enemy above the area and if you hit it perfectly timed you should be able to go to the above area right before the hallway to the varia suit. Keep in mind that this item in all technicality can be gotten late game by skipping the varia suit all together, because when you get the gravity suit you are intended to have the varia suit, so the game basically gives it to you if you don’t have it. Either way can make a speed run faster timing, with skipping the varia suit harder but faster. So in reality it is dealers choice. That is all for now.

April 19th 2017- Momodora reverie under the moonlight review

Today I am going to review Momodora reverie under the moonlight. Momodora is a peculiar game. It is a game that rewards you with various items if you defeat bosses without taking any damage while fighting them. It is a game in which you follow a young priestess Kaho who is fighting a curse to save the land. MomodoraIV-Official art work-

The game is available to purchase at Steam for ten dollars, and it also on the Playstation 4 and Xbox 1 . The graphics is of semi-handrawn and semi-pixel. It has good graphics, and has amazing music. The music isn’t memorable to everyone, but can be. The music feels as if you were listening to classical music, and the gameplay is pretty solid. Overall I would give it a nine out of ten. Please buy the game for yourself to support the author. This game was released on March 4th 2016, so it is technically modern day. This has no support from the author in any way shape or form, but this is a game that needs more love.
